Langston Golf Course is located on Benning Road in Northeast DC, at the end of the DC Street Car Line. This historic 18-Hole course was named after John Mercer Langston, the first African American elected into public office. The facility is a celebrated beacon of African American golf heritage.

Recognized for its staunch support of youth and family outreach programs, Langston is popular with all age groups. The facility offers a driving range and is home of The Langston Grille – best known for it’s delicious all day breakfast.
Langston was built in 1939 on the west bank of the Anacostia River as a replacement for a nine-hole course that was the oldest golf course in the country built specifically for African Americans.
The 18-Hole Par 72 Course features rolling hills and significant water hazards, with the Tidal Marsh and Anacostia River along the entire the Back 9. The hole names at Langston celebrate some of the great Black Pioneers in American golf. While the course may be challenging, it is home to many junior programs and has raised many iconic players.
The Driving Range is closed for maintenance every Thursday until 2 PM.

Langston’s Proshop is stocked with logoed golf apparel such as shirts and hats, and golf accessories, such as balls, tees and gloves.
The Langston Clubhouse Grille is open to all for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It features a full grill with everything from DC’s Best Breakfast to our mouth-watering fried fish and chicken wings. Outdoor Seating under covered patio. Take-out orders are available. Call (202) 397-8638.
